The 1820 gold Sovereign features the Laureate head portrait of George III on the obverse. The Reverse has the George and Dragon design by Pistrucci. Text reads "GEORGIUS III D:G" , "BRITANNIAR:REX F:D" "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE". This is an unusual 'closed 2' variety of the 1820 sovereign where the top of the '2' in 1820 comes round to form a closed loop.
